FAQ
How much protein is in each meat pouch?
There are 4–5 grams of protein in our meat pouches, depending on the flavor. Please see the nutrition facts for more info.
How much protein is in each legume pouch?
There are 4 grams of protein in our legume pouches.
What age are these for?
Our meat and legume pouches are made for babies ages 6 months and older. They make a great first introduction to meat and/or legumes.
Should I warm up the pouch before feeding it to my baby?
You can, but you don’t have to! If you choose to warm up the pouch, keep refrigerated until ready to serve. You can warm them up by placing the pouch or bowl in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. If your little one doesn’t want the whole serving, simply spoon the desired amount into a bowl and place that bowl into another bowl of warm water for a few minutes. Always test the food to make sure it is temperature appropriate before feeding it to your baby.
When can babies eat meat?
Babies can typically start eating meat around 6 months of age, once they begin solids. Soft, blended textures—like our meat purées—make it easy to introduce chicken, turkey, and beef in an infant-safe way.
What does free-range chicken or turkey mean?
Free-range means raised outdoors or with access to outdoors.
Are your meats grass-fed and free-range in every product, or does it vary by flavor?
We source only organic, grass-fed beef and organic, free-range poultry for our pouches.
What does organic mean for meat?
Organic meat is sourced from animals raised with no added growth hormones*, no antibiotics, and year-round outdoor access**.
Is the meat in these pouches fully cooked and safe for babies to eat?
The meat in these pouches is cooked and ready to enjoy.
How does the cold-pressure process affect nutrition?
To give our pouches a (refrigerated) shelf life, there needs to be a “kill step” to destroy potentially harmful bacteria and pathogens. Without this, the pouches would only remain fresh and safe to eat for a couple of days after being made.
High-pressure processing (aka HPP; also sometimes called cold-pressure processing) does this, while maintaining key phytonutrients. It’s an alternative to high-heat processing that also helps maintain the original flavors and textures of the ingredients.
