Frequently Asked Questions

New Organic Meals

  • First, ensure that there is no exposed skin before handling. This means wearing a long sleeved shirt, close toed shoes, and insulated gloves to prevent direct contact with the dry ice. Place in a well ventilated space out of children or pets' reach, like a backyard or fire escape. The dry ice will evaporate within 24 hours. For the container, we recommend checking your county's environmental services website for guidelines on disposing hazardous waste products.

  • No, all meals must be fully cooked prior to consumption. Please follow the cooking instructions on the package. Our meals are ready-to-cook, not ready-to-eat and must not be eaten uncooked. 

  • The current meals are recommended for ages 1+ years. In the coming months, we are reformulating our meal offering for ages 6+ months. It's up to each parent and their pediatrician on what's right for your little one.

  • The current oats meals are recommended for ages 1+ years. In the coming months, we are reformulating our meal offering for ages 6+ months. It's up to each parent and their pediatrician on what's right for your little one.

  • The expiration dates are 12 months from the date of production. The date can be found on top right back of the pouch near the rip.

  • Our plant-rich meals are pre-cut, flash frozen meal kits made with frozen fruits, veggies and superfoods for ages 6+ months to childhood. The meals need to be fully cooked before consumption. Once cooked, you can blend for a purée, smash with a fork to spoon feed or allow your little one to feed themselves.

  • Once cooked, you can refrigerate the leftovers but cannot re-freeze again.

  • Our meals must be cooked frozen, not thawed. Please only cook immediately after taking from the freezer.

  • Flash frozen is a technique that allows quick and instant freezing. This technology ensures that the nutrition from the raw ingredient is primarily retained.

  • Not at this time. Due to shipping complexities, meals and pouches will ship separately. There's a different method of shipping for refrigerated pouches and frozen meals but we're happy to provide subscription options for both.

  • The meals should be frozen at all times. Do not use any packet that is thawed. If your order arrived thawed, please contact us and we'll be happy to send a replacement.

  • Online purchase options for our meals are in increments of 16 or 24.

  • We're excited to offer two subscription services for Once Upon a Farm. While the subscriptions can't be combined, you can have a meals subscription and a pouch subscription.

  • The meals must be stored frozen. As soon as you receive your delivery, immediately place the meals and/or oats in the freezer. The meal should remain frozen until you're ready to immediately cook from the freezer. Do not thaw before cooking.

  • Since our ready-to-cook meals are made with a variety of pre-cut fruits, veggies, proteins, grains, and nutritious fats, they come at a higher cost than our pouches.

Refrigerated Pouches Shipping with Frozen Meals

  • For a limited time, we are offering select number of our refrigerated blend pouches that can be shipped with your Frozen Ready-to-Cook Meals. These will arrive frozen to your door, in the same box as the frozen ready to cook meals and should be placed in the refrigerator.

  • A select offering of our Refrigerated Blend Pouches will arrive frozen with your Frozen Ready-to-Cook Meals instead of refrigerated. As with all of our pouches, please shake/massage to reactivate our yummy ingredients.

  • These Refrigerated Blend Pouches will ship in the same box as your Frozen Ready-to-Cook Meals and stored in dry ice.

  • Our Refrigerated Blend Pouches will arrive frozen. They should then be stored in the refrigerator after delivery and thawed before eating. Once thawed, your little one can enjoy through the Enjoy by Date listed on the back of the packaging.

  • Simply remove from the refrigerator, shake/massage and let your little one enjoy.

  • Once thawed, our Refrigerated Blend Pouches can remain in the refrigerator through the Enjoy by Date listed on the back of the packaging.

New Pouch Coolers

  • A Pouch Cooler is like an ice pack hug—just slip your Once Upon a Farm pouch inside and keep it cold out of the fridge for longer!

  • Pouch Coolers are availabe as an add-on to any online refrigerated pouch order for $11.99 each. They are not sold separately. *Orders without pouch blends will be cancelled and refunded. 

  • Three (3) is the maximum quantity that are available per order. 

  • Pouch Coolers are only available with refrigerated pouch orders (not frozen meals). If you have a qualifying order and are still not seeing them, please chat with us online or email us at for further assistance.

  • Store your Pouch Cooler in the freezer for at least 4 hours, until frozen solid.

  • Yes, they are BPA, BPS and phthalates free.

  • This will depend on the temperature where the pouch is being stored.

  • The Pouch Cooler contents include Polyacrylic Acid Sodium (PAAS) as a thickening agent, Glycerin and water. As with any non food item, the contents should not be consumed. Please do not use as a teether and discard if punctured.

  • Red and green are available at this time.


  • We believe that your little one deserves the best, so we go the extra mile to make sure our products are delicious, nutritious and safe for you and your family. All of our products are organic, non-gmo project verified, contain no added sugar, preservatives or additives. All of our products are also cold-pressure protected which means we use cold-pressure (HPP), instead of heat, to cold-press our blends to lock in the nutrients, taste, texture of the organic ingredients we use.

  • Yes! All our blends are Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified.

  • We use a technology called HPP (high-pressure processing) which uses pressure (5.52x the deepest part of the ocean!) instead of heat to kill any bad bacteria such as E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella, but retain the nutrients, taste, and texture of farm-fresh ingredients. Shelf-stable baby food, on the other hand, is high heat pasteurized which affects the nutrient content, taste, color and texture and allows it to sit on the shelf at room temperature for years. Here’s a quick video to learn more about our process.

  • Yes! Our blends are perishable and must be refrigerated.

  • We’re available at most major retailers nationwide. You can use our store locator to find a store near you! Find us in the refrigerator section next to the yogurt or produce or in the cooler in the baby food aisle! You can also shop on our website.

  • Yes! All packaging is BPA, BPS and PVC free.

  • Our bowls are curbside recyclable. Unfortunately, our pouch packaging is not curbside recyclable at this time. Product safety and quality is our number one priority and a recyclable or compostable option that holds up to these standards simply does not currently exist. This issue not only faces our company, but many others in our industry. While we have scaled back our full TerraCycle program to spend more time and resources on the pursuit of a curbside recyclable pouch, we still have a partnership with them and can provide envelopes for you to recycle via TerraCycle upon request.   • We currently do not have any coupons available online. Feel free to send a message to us to see if coupons are available. 

  • Please read the ingredient statement carefully on the back of every product if you have any allergen concerns. Some of our blends contain coconut (coconut is actually a fruit but the FDA treats it as a tree nut as some people may have sensitivities or allergies). The facility we use processes tree nuts, egg, dairy, and soy. Care is taken to thoroughly clean all equipment in between each product to prevent the carryover of ingredients.

  • Yes! They’re easy to take on-the-go and can be left out of the fridge for 4 hours. If traveling for longer, the pouches can be carried with an ice pack or they can be frozen and then thawed thoroughly before eating. If frozen and put in lunches, they can also help keep other food cold. To take through TSA, simply designate them as baby food and put them in a separate bin.

  • If your little one decides they only want some of the blend, you can re-refrigerate the rest for up to 72 hours.

  • Our packaging (pouches, cups and bowls) are not microwavable. If you’d like to warm up the blend, place the pouch or bowl in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. If your little one doesn’t want the whole serving, simply spoon the desired amount into a bowl and place that into a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. Always test the food to make sure it is temperature appropriate before feeding it to your baby.

  • Our baby food bowls, cups, and pouches can be unrefrigerated for up to 4 hours (longer if taken on-the-go in a cooler bag with an ice pack or when frozen and thawed). A good rule of thumb: if the product is cool to touch, it’s safe to eat.

  • If you plan to freeze your pouch or cup, place them in the freezer before the Enjoy By Date. Once frozen, our products will be good for 6 months after the Enjoy By Date. Be sure to consume them within 24 hours of thawing. We don’t recommend re-freezing blends if they’ve been frozen and thawed. 

  • We always recommend checking with your baby’s pediatrician if you have any concerns about how much your baby is eating. For the most part, babies will eat when they’re hungry and stop when they’re full, but some babies will eat more than others and it can vary day to day (or hour to hour!). Trust your baby’s signals, but check with your pediatrician if you’re concerned.

  • We set high standards that would deliver delicious, nutrient-rich, and safe food for your children. That includes testing for heavy metals (including lead), pesticides, and other contaminates across 3 different areas:

    - Requiring all our organic suppliers to regularly test

    - Testing all our products internally

    - Taking it one step further with independent product testing through a 3rd party, Clean Label Project. We are extremely proud of our Clean Label Project verification and  Purity Award Certification.

  • The Clean Label Project is a third-party non-profit that uses state of the art testing to determine the safety of food and other health items for consumers. The Clean Label Project Purity Award evaluates products for substances that would never be found on a product label. These substances include chemicals of concern and industrial and environmental toxins and contaminants (like heavy metals, pesticide residues, and plasticizers) that have the long-term potential to adversely affect health and well-being.

  • Our products remain completely safe to eat. As always , we use high-pressure processing (HPP) which is an FDA-approved cold pasteurization technique that uses pressure to kill any harmful bacteria and preserve food without reducing its nutritional value.

    Furthermore, according to the Center for Disease Control, COVID-19 is spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets.

    The FDA states there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the current situation to stay informed on developments impacting the food and safety of our products.

  • The WHO and CDC have stated that the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus contaminating cardboard or other shipping containers is low. If there is a concern, disinfecting the shipment or using protective apparel when unwrapping the container will reduce the risk of exposure.

Online & Subscription Purchases

  • We offer a subscription program that delivers our cold-pressed blends right to your home, at a flexible delivery frequency that works for you. Once you sign up, start saving on each recurring delivery. Here's how it works:

    2. Select your delivery frequency (from every 1 to 5 weeks)

    3. Delivered to your doorstep

    You can also change your flavors, delivery schedule, or cancel your subscription at any time before your next charge date.

  • We ship all orders in insulated packaging with gel packs to ensure the pouches arrive cold. If they are not cool to the touch when opening, please contact us. For additional questions regarding shipping and returns, please visit our Shipping and Returns page.

  • We’re proud to announce that we’re now available in Canada! At this time, however, we do not ship internationally for online orders. Visit our Canada website for more information on products available and where to find them via our store locator

  • You can log into your account at any time up to one day before your charge date to change your blends. You will also get an email 5 days before your next charge date as a reminder. The “change blends” button will not appear if it’s too late to change blends for the upcoming order.


  • No; WIC™ only allows fruits and vegetables in their products, so there is a restriction on any added seeds, oils, spices, etc. There are no preservatives, concentrates or pre-processed purees.

  • Once Upon a Farm Baby Bowls are WIC eligible in NY, FL, MI, TX, CT and temporarily authorized in CA. Learn more on the blog!

  • No; anyone is welcome to purchase our new line in stores where they are sold. For now, these products will not be available to purchase online.

  • The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC™) provides federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.

  • The Growing Greatness Rewards Program is our Loyalty Program where you earn SEEDS (points) and exclusive discounts, get early access to sales, new products, freebies, and more. Enrollment in the program is free. Once Upon a Farm reserves the right to change or rescind the Growing Greatness Rewards Program at any time.

  • SEEDS are our version of points. Earn them with every purchase and for doing other actions like creating an account, following us on Instagram, sharing us on Facebook, leaving a review after purchase, celebrating your Birthday and O'Farm anniversary, signing up for SMS notifications, and referring friends. Log in to your account on the Growing Greatness Rewards Program page to see other ways to earn SEEDS and to exchange your SEEDS for discounts.

  • Aside from our unconditional friendship, you’ll receive 50 SEEDS instantly upon sign up. As you earn more, you’ll become eligible for exclusive offers, seasonal giveaways, and more.

  • Yes, your SEEDS expire after 12 months of inactivity (i.e. no purchases or redemptions). Your Rewards account is linked with your Once Upon a Farm account. Your SEEDs will be deleted if you delete your account with Once Upon a Farm. 

  • You can view your SEEDS balance when logged into your account on the Growing Greatness Rewards Program page.

  • Not at this time. We’ll be sure to update you in the future if this becomes an option. 

  • To redeem your SEEDS for online store credit, log in to your account on the Growing Greatness Rewards Program page. You can apply your discount code to a one-time order at checkout or add it to your subscription portal. 

  • Your SEEDS balance will reflect SEEDS earned from a new purchase after your payment has been fully processed through our system.

  • Yes! Through our referral program, your friends receive $10 off of their first order of $60 or more, and you receive 300 SEEDS ($15) for every successful referral. In order for a referral to be successful, each friend you refer must be a new customer, must place an order for $60 or more, and must order through your unique referral link.   • Redemptions start at 100 SEEDS for $5 in store credit. You can choose to redeem at that time or hold on to your SEEDS for a larger discount. 100 SEEDS = $5 off, 200 SEEDS = $10 off, 300 SEEDS = $15 off, 400 SEEDS = $20 off, 500 SEEDS = $25 off. 

  • There is no limit to the number of SEEDS you can earn. But the maximum you can exchange for online store credit at one time is 500 SEEDS or $25.

  • You have one year from the date of entry to maintain your Sprout, Seedling, or Farm rewards tier status. Upon reaching the next tier, a new one-year period begins. You must meet the required spend threshold to keep that status each year.
