Warm, spiced apples and flaky puff pastry come together to form this scrumptious fall treat. As easy as apple pie, these mini apple turnovers can be filled solely with Once Upon a Farm's organic, no added sugar‡ Apple Cinnamon Applesauce for a smooth, consistent texture or with added diced apple for a little something extra.

Mini Apple Turnovers Recipe
Time: 35 minutes
Yield: 6 mini turnovers
Ingredients
- Very small diced apple, about 3 tablespoons total (optional)
- 1 Once Upon a Farm Apple Cinnamon Applesauce pouch
- 1.5 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 tablespoon egg white, for egg wash (optional, but helps with browning crust)
- Optional: Powdered sugar for topping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375ºF and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, or grease well.
- In a small bowl, combine Applesauce pouch with cornstarch; whisk until fully dissolved; set aside.
- Unroll 1 sheet of puff pastry and cut into 12 small rectangles (for 6 turnovers) and gently separate the rectangles. Place 6 rectangles onto a lined baking sheet.
- Add about ½ tablespoon of diced apples into the center of each rectangle. Add 2 teaspoons of applesauce.
- Cover with the remaining rectangles and gently press together edges using the tip of a fork. Brush with egg wash for better browning.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar for a little extra sweetness. Enjoy!
