Almond protein is simply made from organic almonds. Unlike traditional almond flour which is made from ground up almonds, an artisanal pressurized extraction method is used to take the process one step further to separate the fat from the flour. This process creates an almond flour which contains 65% less fat and 55% more protein than traditional almond flour. As kids grow older, so do their protein needs. In order to give a great tasting, dairy free, nutritionally packed product, almonds are a great addition as they also offer other health benefits for tots and kids such as vitamin b complex, manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, and selenium. AAP regulations on allergens have recently shifted based on important research findings. It is now believed that delaying foods like tree nuts does not protect against allergens, and introducing them early is best. You should always talk to your pediatrician first, but according to the AAP you can feed your baby common allergens when starting solids because there’s no evidence that avoiding them prevents allergies. We do not use tree nuts (other than coconut, which is actually a fruit) in our baby food, but you will find it in our Toddler (Stage 4) and Smoothie products.
