Once Upon a Farm to Debut New Line of Cold-Pressed Baby Food Cups
at Natural Products Expo East

BERKELEY, Calif., September 11, 2018 – Today, Once Upon a Farm announced a line of new organic baby food cups, made with organic fruits and veggies, that are just like parents would make at home and designed for spoon-feeding. This latest innovation from the organic family food company expands the refrigerated brand beyond its popular lines of cold-pressed baby food, applesauce and smoothie pouches.

“While consumers love pouches for convenience and on-the-go feeding, pouches make up just 30% of the overall baby food category,” said John Foraker, industry pioneer and co-founder and CEO of Once Upon a Farm who is scheduled to speak at this Friday’s Postmodern Organic Company Panel at Natural Products Expo East. “We know parents want to be able to spoon feed their babies, especially in those early days, because it creates a special bonding moment between parent and child. Until now, there have been very few fresh baby food options that encourage spoon feeding and we’re proud to be bringing this innovation to retail.”

Designed for ages 5 to 9+ months, Once Upon a Farm baby food cups are non-GMO Project verified and use the highest-quality ingredients to satisfy a baby’s nutritional needs, including nutrient dense ingredients like quinoa, coconut yogurt and avocado. The cups are packaged in BPA-free, recyclable plastic. The new line will be available at retailers nationwide in January 2019 with an SRP of $2.49, significantly lower than many direct-to-consumer competitive offerings. The cups are available in nine varieties:

5+ Months

  • So Sweet Potato
  • I Carrot Lot
  • Prince of Prunes

7+ Months

  • Straw-pear-y Carrot
  • Blueberry Bear
  • Pineapple of my Eye

9+ Months

  • Beauty and the Beet
  • Strawberry Beet Basil
  • Squash Bucklin’ Sage

“Like all of our products, our new cups are cold-pressed to lock in nutrients, taste and texture of farm fresh ingredients,” said co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Cassandra Curtis. “Because we are a company that is committed to serving all families and backgrounds, we formulated these cups to be WIC eligible and will be working hard to gain approval at the state level over the next year.”

In addition to sampling its popular baby food pouches, Once Upon a Farm will also sample baby food cups at Natural Products Expo East, located at Booth #9000 at the Baltimore Convention Center, September 12-15, 2018.

At that SRP price expect zero state WIC authorizations.
