Carrots are a great first food for baby and they can be combined with lots of other ingredients to give a nutritious, delicious, colorful and Vitamin A packed meal for you little one. If you’re preparing your own homemade baby food, here are my top 3 carrot baby food recipes from my own kitchen that I hope you will love 🙂 The best thing about them? They can be prepared in 5 minutes or less!

Each recipe makes about 3 servings. Feel free to enjoy yourself as well (especially #2 and #3 – YUM)!

Somebunny’s First Food

Ingredients:

  • 5 Carrots with tops cut off
  • 2oz Breast milk or water*
  • 1/16 tsp. coconut oil
  • 1/16 tsp. hemp oil
  • 1/16 tsp. sunflower oil

Directions:

  1. Wash carrots well with a scrub brush.
  2. Put all ingredients in Vitamix and blend until smooth.
  3. *Adjust water/breastmilk as necessary to get to desired consistency. 

You’re so Goji-ous

Ingredients:

  • 2 Fuji Apples
  • 3 Carrots with tops cut off
  • 1/8 Cup dried goji berries
  • 1 Tbsp. coconut cream

Directions:

  1. Wash carrots well with a scrub brush.
  2. De-steam and de-core apples.
  3. Put all ingredients in Vitamix and blend until smooth.

10Karrot Pineapples

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup pineapple (chopped)
  • 1 Whole orange (peeled)
  • 3 Carrots with tops cut off
  • 1/8 Avocado

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients in Vitamix and blend until smooth.

Carrots are a wonderful first food when starting solids and in season for fall! With Vitamin A for bright eyes and a subtly sweet taste, giving your little ones carrots will help to plant a love for veggies early on and start a lifetime of healthy eating. Enjoy!
